Isla de Flores
Isla de Flores Cultural Landscape and its fluvio-marine context is part of the Tentative list of Uruguay in order to qualify for inclusion in the World Heritage List.
Isla de Flores was were millions of migrants arrived in the 19th century. They were isolated on the island to comply with health regulations. The remaining buildings show the various steps (quarantine, hospital and cremation) that were taken according to the health level of each immigrant.
